Memory and Thinking Across the Lifespan
Dr. Arnold, Translational Neurology Head of the Interdisciplinary Brain Center at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, will discuss how memory and other cognitive functions change over the lifespan, with a focus on later life.
Dr. Arnold will review how different diseases like Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease affect the brain, the concepts of “normal aging,” “mild cognitive impairment” and “dementia.” He will present current and future biomarker methods for detecting the presence of diseases in the brain, even before a person has any symptoms. Current thinking on how to prevent memory decline will also be discussed.
A period of Q&A will follow the presentation.
The event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited.
