U.S. News & World Report has ranked Sherrill House in Jamaica Plain among the best nursing homes in the United States for 2016 – 2017. This recognition is built upon the federal government’s Nursing Home Compare data and the U.S. News & World Report’s own rigorous screening methodology, and recognizes the top 13% of skilled nursing centers in the US.
Sherrill House is regularly acknowledged as one of the best rehabilitation centers in Massachusetts, which explains why rooms there are so highly sought. Its short-term rehabilitation program is routinely rated above 90% by its residents, patients and their families for quality and overall satisfaction.
“This recognition is really an acknowledgment of our staff,” says Patrick Stapleton, CEO of Sherrill House. “It is their dedicated commitment to our residents, patients and their families which is being recognized.”
Thirteen percent (13%) of nursing homes in the country were included in the "Best Nursing Homes" list. Even more impressive is that Sherrill House is recognized for a deficiency-free rating and high resident and family satisfaction ratings.
"Several million Americans will spend at least some time in a nursing home this year, whether undergoing rehab after a hospital stay or as long-term residents," said Brian Kelly, editor and chief content officer of U.S. News. "Finding a nursing home that meets an individual's specific needs can be challenging for families. Our nursing home ratings are designed to help potential residents and their loved ones navigate this difficult process."
