Sherrill House appoints new trustee: Allene Russell Pierson

With over 30 years of experience in the field of education, Mrs. Pierson attended Noble and Greenough School and Princeton University, and received her MEd from Lesley University, where she currently serves on the Board of Trustees.

A middle school teacher by profession, Mrs. Pierson taught in the 1980’s at Shady Hill School in Cambridge, and The Park School in Brookline, before her husband’s job (as an MGH-trained thoracic transplant surgeon and scientist) moved their family to Nashville and then Baltimore, where Allene substitute taught and raised their three children.

In addition to Lesley University, she is a former trustee of Noble and Greenough School. A longtime congregant and volunteer in the Episcopal Church, Mrs. Pierson has previously served on the Board of Forward Movement Publications, and as Senior Warden at the Church of the Redeemer in Baltimore, where she later chaired the Friends of Music committee.
