Social Work

The Social Work Department, also the Family Communications Team, at Sherrill House plays a key role in the multidisciplinary team and the coordination of care.

From careful and comprehensive admissions review, to safe and smooth discharges, the professional social workers interface with patients, families and all the disciplines at Sherrill House so that there are clear communications about what is expected and what will happen.

The social workers coordinate family, patient and staff interactions, often answering or securing the answers to, important and sometimes sensitive questions. Upon discharge, the social work team often helps to coordinate services for patients and their families and remains an important link after discharge.
